![]() ![]() On a day, high up a steel scaffolding tower working on a hard-won billboard painting job, Chil-su and Man-su are drinking soju and grumbling about their lives, shouting down at the world from high above to relieve their stress. Also, due to his father's checkered personal history, Man-su failed to get selected for a lucrative construction job in the Middle East. Because his father is a prisoner of conscience and long-term convict, Man-su cannot get a decent job, so he does these painting jobs for a living, even if it means working dangerous jobs like working while suspended on high buildings. Man-su is a taciturn and sincere man who paints everything from skyscrapers to large outdoor billboards - any work is fine with him - but he also has family secrets that he cannot share. However, in reality there is no brother Chil-su only has his father - a houseboy at a US military base in Dongducheon - and an older sister who became a western princess and so was thrown out of home. Chil-su constantly tells everyone of his plans to move to Miami, as soon as his older brother sends him an invitation. ![]() In fact, Chil-su was a theater sign painter but quit his job in a rage at his boss' abusive behaviour - now he helps sign painter Man-su (Ahn Sung-ki) with his work. ![]() Later, he poses as an art student in an attempt to impress Jina, who is a university student working part time at a fast food restaurant. During a civil defense drill in Seoul, Chil-su (Park Joong-hoon) meets Jina (Bae Jong-ok) by chance while being evacuated. ![]()
